Akashic Records: When the Highest Good Feels Bad

Let's start with a quick story. My very first real job was teaching science to both middle and high school grades. This is literally a quick story, because I only lasted two months at that job.

I hated it. I cried on my way to and from school every day. I quit in October.

I wasn't spiritual at all at that time in my life; however, if I had been spiritual, I am 100% sure that my Guides would have been very happy about this whole situation. If I had checked in with them, they would have told me that this was exactly where I needed to be, that this was leading somewhere great, and that they were very excited for my journey.

If I was miserable, why would my Guides have been so very happy?? How could this possible by in my Highest Good?

This is a situation that comes up often enough for me to write a blog about it. There are times when the Guides are so very happy about our "progress" when to us there is absolutely no progress, in fact we feel miserable.

Let's decode what is happening.

The Guides are always thinking big picture. They want what is best for us, for the Highest Good of our lives as a whole. They are immersed in our self-growth and in the lessons we need to learn so that we will be prepared for the amazingly cool thing that is coming our way.

When I failed at my first ever real job, I felt terrible about myself for a few years. I thought I would not be successful at anything. I thought (in the way of a 23-year-old) that I was a complete and utter failure. There was no redeeming myself. What I did not see was all of the lessons I learned in those short two months at the school as well as the lessons I learned as I ultimately bounced back into life.

In hindsight, it was very lucky that I failed at this first job. Wow, how fortunate! I am who I am today because I was given that opportunity to learn how to fail. That was an essential step on the journey towards learning who I actually am in this life.

This is a key concept to remember when we are working in the Akashic Records. When you come to a session and ask if something is in your Highest Good, the Guides are answering that question differently than you are asking it. You are asking if this decision will create massive success for you. The Guides are looking at your entire trajectory and deciding if that decision fits into the ups and downs, successes and failures, that you need to experience in order to grow in this lifetime. This means that your Highest Good sometimes contains situations that feel miserable.

When the Guides are super excited, this means you are about to grow. Think about how we grow as souls on this planet. We grow when something wild happens (positive or negative) and you learn lessons from the situation. For our physical experiences, this means it could be a wildly exciting experience or a painful experience.

This perspective is essential to understand when you prepare for an Akashic Session. I have had clients feel disappointed before when the Guides were very excited about certain things that ended up being challenging for the client. Understanding the perspective of the Guides will help to shape your expectations. The real question is: are you ready to grow? Because that's what the Guides want to talk about.

Instead of thinking about your life in terms of success and failure, what if you starting thinking about it in terms of growth and expansion? How would this change the narrative of absolutely everything? No more failures, no more successes. Only growth, knowledge, and helpful experiences. Let all of that settle in your mind and then reach out. Can't wait to chat.
